Background

Established in 1989 in NY - Founded by Robert K. Steel, a business leader and an expert on financial institutions and markets. He served as Under Secretary for Domestic Finance of the United States Treasury from 2006-2008, and as Vice-Chair. of Goldman Sachs. Until 2010 he served as President and C.E.O. of Wachovia Corporation. Under former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Steel was the Deputy Mayor for Economic Development and Rebuilding. Steel also serves as Chairman of the board of the Aspen Institute, an international non-profit organization devoted to promoting values-based leadership; and he is the Second Chairman of The After-School Corporation, a non-profit organization devoted to after-school and summer activities that support, educate and inspire youth. Steel is also a member of the Pew Charitable Trusts Task Force on Financial Reform, which advises the United States Congress on critical financial reform issues.
