Established in 1987 in VA - Founded by Robert H. and Clarice R. Smith. Robert H. Smith is Chairman of Charles E. Smith Co. Commercial Realty, a division of Vornado Realty Trust, and Chairman of Charles E. Smith Co. Residential, a division of Archstone-Smith Trust, the third largest Real Estate Investment Trust in the U.S. Smith is best known for spearheading the development of the Crystal City complex, an urban neighborhood in the southeastern corner of Arlington County, Virginia. In 2008, Smith was awarded with the National Humanities Medal
