The foundation's purpose is to encourage and enable individuals and communities to partner together to help people to help themselves. The foundation supports projects that are self-help in nature, affirm individual dignity, and create incentives for people to participate in their own self-development. The foundation accepts proposals for program expenses for national and international human service relief and development projects. Projects must demonstrate a specific and focused community-based strategy for economic development in the areas of food security, jobs, and small business start-up. The foundation also accepts proposals for senior care, and educational/leadership development programs for youth, child abuse and neglect prevention, and strengthening family values.
