Established in 2001 in DE and CA as a result of the merger of the Schwab Foundation for Learning and The Charles and Helen Schwab Family Foundation - Founded by Charles R. and Helen Schwab. Charles Schwab is founder and Chairman of The Charles Schwab Corporation, which was launched in 1971 as a traditional brokerage company, and in 1974 became a pioneer in the discount brokerage business. The company is now one of the nation's largest financial services firms
