Accion International

This program provides technical support for microfinance institutions in Latin America. The foundation is also interested in Accion's Latin America Bridge Fund providing financial leverage to help MF institutions gain access to market based capital. Holt International Children's Service/Holt Romania - helped establish local family service agency to deal with orphan and family at risk problems.

Program-Related Investment

The foundation has made PRIs in the form of loans to a non-profit organization dedicated to creating financing solutions for small- and midsized farms, limited-resource farms, and those using ecologically sound practices; a project which contributes to the expansion of micro finance throughout the world; and to an organization for economic development in Somerset County, ME. Historically, the foundation has made a PRI in the form of a loan to an organization that supports investors who wish to invest with their values and to get a financial return, while contributing to the economic, social and environmental well being of low income people and communities in Maine.
