Established in 1997 in MA - Originally established in 1877 as Rutland Corner House, Inc., to provide housing and support services to women in need in the greater Boston, MA, area. Fiscal constraints made it necessary to close the residential program and sell the house in 1996, thereby providing, along with a small endowment, the means to establish the Rutland Corner Foundation

Purpose and Activities

The foundation is committed to helping and sustaining programs serving girls aged 10-15 within Greater Boston. It believes that early adolescence is an important time in a young girl’s development, and recognizes that there are different needs that girls have at this age. The emotional, intellectual, physical, spiritual, and academic support girls receive during this age positively influence developmental outcomes. It specializes in supporting programs that address those unique developmental challenges and needs. .
