Purpose and Activities

The mission of the Peery Foundation is to strengthen youth and families to build lives of dignity and self-reliance. The foundation does this by investing in social entrepreneurs in the San Francisco Bay Area and around the world. The foundation has three portfolios of grantees: local, regional, and global. Local: focusing on building the capacity of at-risk youth in East Palo Alto. Regional: funding early to mid-stage entrepreneurs as they scale their programs throughout the bay and beyond. Also providing expansion funds for proven programs from around the country which are growing into the Bay Area. Global: investing in market-based approaches to poverty which create opportunities for youth and families around the world.
