Purpose and Activities

The mission of the foundation is to honor the Norwegian seafarers who risked their lives for the Allied cause in World War II, and for whom the foundation was originally established, by sponsoring charitable, educational, professional and cultural programs between Norway and the United States. The foundation carries out its mission by making grants to qualified charitable organizations that promote, encourage, and support Norwegian-American educational, professional and cultural exchange, or provide social services to Norwegian-Americans and Norwegian nationals living in the United States, and by providing fellowships for Norwegian students to study in northern California.
