Established in 1967 in OH - Burton D. Morgan established the Burton D. Morgan Foundation in 1967 as a private foundation based in Akron, Ohio. A six-member independent board of trustees administers the foundation

Purpose and Activities

Giving to strengthen the free enterprise system by investing in organizations and institutions that foster the entrepreneurial spirit. The foundation is interested in supporting projects that nurture creativity, invention, entrepreneurship, and innovation. The foundation seeks to support educational programs and projects at the adult, collegiate, and youth levels that are designed to build competencies in entrepreneurship, free enterprise, and innovation; nonprofit organizations and programs that directly assist entrepreneurs in business planning, start-up and acceleration, and access to capital; and selected initiatives aimed at rejuvenating economic competitiveness within Northeast Ohio.
