Established in 1970 in OR - Maybelle Clark Macdonald’s family settled in Linnton, Oregon in 1902. They operated the Clark and Wilson Lumber Company. In 1920 an opportunity arose for O.M. Clark and his son, W.W. Clark, to purchase a one-half interest in the Willamette Valley Lumber Company held by the estate of H.L. Pittock. Willamette Valley Lumber Company subsequently merged with other companies to become Willamette Industries. In 2002 Willamette Industries was purchased by Weyerhauser Company. Maybelle, or Middy, as she is known to her friends, grew up in the midst of the burgeoning Oregon pioneer spirit. She and her late husband, Fred Macdonald, created the fund
