Scholarship awards to individuals of Greek ancestry from Greece, Cyprus and Istanbul for the purpose of learning the English language. The scholarships are only for English language instruction at all levels from beginner up to and including the Certificate of Proficiency (Universities of Cambridge and Michigan) and are applicable to candidates of all ages, provided they have had their 12th birthday. Candidates must also be Greek Orthodox. The scholarships cover all tuition and educational materials for one year, with the possibility of renewal for further years for those recipients who are conscientious in their study and attendance .

Scholarship

The scholarships are only for English language instruction at all levels from Beginner up to and including the Certificate of Proficiency (universities of Cambridge and Michigan) and are applicable to candidates of all ages, provided they have had their 12th birthday. Applicants must also have Greek ancestry and be Greek Orthodox. The scholarship covers all tuition and educational materials for one year, with the possibility of renewal for further years for those recipients who are conscientious in their study and attendance. Applicant must have physically lived in Greece, Cyprus or Istanbul for at least six months prior to applying, and must be willing to study at one of the two authorized language institutes, i.e. the Estia Neas Smyrnis English Language School or the Dessy Topouzides Institute of Foreign Languages at Voula.
