Incorporated in 1984 in NY - Founded by Rita J. and Stanley H. Kaplan. The late Stanley H. Kaplan was the founder of Kaplan, Inc., the first and largest test-preparation company in America. The company was sold to The Washington Post Co. in 1984 for $45 million.

Purpose and Activities

Support for cultural programs, including music, arts, theater, performing arts, and museums; libraries; medical research and education, including mental illness, AIDS and cancer research; social and family services, including programs for the homeless, children, and women; Jewish giving, including Jewish education; and organizations promoting human rights and pluralism in Israel and the U.S.
