Purpose and Activities

The foundation's mission is to mobilize resources and strategic support to increase educational opportunities, striving to support and create successful educational advancement at all levels, from pre-school to post-doctoral scientific and medical research.

Program Area(s)

The grantmaker has identified the following area(s) of interest:

Educational Content

The foundation believes that investing in efforts of improving educational content will encourage the enhancement of education worldwide. This content venture coincides with our mission to increase wide-reaching educational opportunities. The Program consists of trainings to school proprietors, teachers, and caterers to improve business management, quality of education, health, and safety, as well as access to six different targeted loan products that specifically address the cash flow challenges of a school.

Educational Training and Research

From pre-schools to post-doctoral scientific and medical research, the foundation strives to support and create successful educational advancement through training and research.

Founder's Fund

The fund has been established to support innovative thinkers, leaders and organizations that stand outside of the educational spectrum. In order to remain effectively strategic, the majority of the foundation’s support revolves around education, but the founder continues to grant to a variety of community and seasonal initiatives. About 10 percent of all grants provided by the foundation fit into this category.

IDP Rising Schools Program

The foundation developed this program in partnership with Sinapi Aba Trust (a Ghanaian microfinance institution) and Opportunity International US. The program was launched in 2009 in Ghana to boost the development of existing low-cost private schools by efficiently delivering financial and capacity building services in an innovative way.

Program-Related Investment

The foundation has made a PRI in the form of a non-interest bearing loan for a school program in Ghana.
