Established in 1983 in PA and DE - The Fund was established by Edith Hilles Dewees in memory of her father, Thomas Allen Hilles, and began operation in 1983.

Purpose and Activities

The fund seeks to enhance the quality of life of disadvantaged and vulnerable children, youth and women in the city of Philadelphia, PA, New York City, and the Northeast Kingdom, Vermont (comprising Essex, Orleans and Caledonia counties.) The fund supports direct services as well as advocacy strategies that focus on education, youth development and community development. The fund also supports certain projects of the Religious Society of Friends, usually in the Philadelphia area.
