Established in 2008 - Founded by Steve Harvey, an actor and comedian who starred in the television sitcom "The Steve Harvey Show," the movie "The Original Kings of Comedy," and is the host of the radio show "The Steve Harvey Morning Show" and the popular television game show "Family Feud." He is also the author of several books, including "Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man: What Men Really Think About Love, Relationships, Intimacy, and Commitment." In 2007, he won the Syndicated Personality/Show of the Year award by Radio & Records magazine.

The foundation's mission is to share, teach and demonstrate the principles of manhood to young men, enabling them to achieve their dreams and become productive men who are balanced emotionally, politically and economically.

The Steve Harvey Mentoring Weekend for Young Men

This is a 4 day, 3 night program designed to expose young men to manhood responsibilities involving education, employment and social skills. One hundred young men, ages 13-18, from around the country, will be pre-selected to travel to Dallas, TX, with a parent or guardian for a weekend of mentoring. The weekend’s long term goal is to provide young African American men with role models who emphasize solid principles and inspire a bright, productive, and responsible future. Eligible participants must be a from a single female head of household who is enrolled as a student in grades 8-11 as of the date of submission as well as a legal resident of the 48 contiguous United States and Washington, DC.
