Citizen Activist Award

The award is designed to encourage individual commitment and leadership by recognizing the exceptional achievement of people who have initiated social change. The award recognizes activist efforts in the United States to confront, challenge and correct social injustice. Nominators have been selected from the media, government and the non-profit sector to bring qualified individuals to the attention of the foundation's Board of Judges. Every other year (alternating with The International Activist Award) $100,000 is awarded to the Honorees. See foundation web site for nomination form.

Grants to Individuals Program

Awards by nomination only to citizen activist leaders who confront, challenge and correct social injustice, and initiate positive social change.

International Activist Award

The award honors individuals in the international community who have inspired change and motivated others in the realm of social activism. The $100,000 award is presented every other year, alternating with the award presented to activists in the United States. Winners of the award are determined by an international Board of Judges after reviewing nominations solicited world-wide. Nominees are recognized for accomplishments outside of the United States, with citizens from all countries eligible. The International Activist Award is not presented posthumously, nor is it given to groups or organizations. See foundation web site for nomination form.
