"The Kathy"

In 2011 the foundation launched the Kathy Goldfarb-Findling Leadership Award. Now jointly sponsored with the Allyn Foundation, it is named for the foundation's late Executive Director who also worked at Allyn. This honor is given periodically to celebrate a nonprofit professional in Central New York (Onondaga, Oswego, Madison and Cayuga counties) who leads through creativity, collegiality and collaboration. "What If..." Mini Grants

The foundation seeks to fund neighborhood associations made up of concerned citizens as they work to develop their neighborhood’s resources and assets. This includes supporting efforts that encourage inclusion of diverse populations in decisions that affect their community. These grants are given for projects with a total budget of $5,000 or less for neighborhoods within the City of Syracuse, NY. In order to receive application guidelines for this program, applicants should attend an information meeting. Giffordslist is a free resource sharing web site for nonprofits. Administered by the foundation, the goals include offering opportunities for nonprofits, businesses and individuals to exchange resources, information and services, thereby engendering collaboration and stronger, more efficient organizations that are better able to serve their constituencies.

Ideas Collaborative: Initiative to Develop and Engage Audiences in Syracuse

The goal of the collaborative is to strengthen arts, culture, and heritage organizations and the creative sector in Onondaga County, NY, through engagement strategies that will increase participation, identify new audience market segments, and uncover opportunities for cooperative activity and resource sharing.
