Incorporated in 1957 in MI - The primary purpose of the foundation is to carry on, indefinitely, financial aid to charities of all types supported by Mr. and Mrs. Gerstacker during their lifetimes. Mrs. Gerstacker was a sister of Elsa U. Pardee, founder of the Elsa U. Pardee Foundation and wife of James T. Pardee, who was board chairman of the Dow Chemical Company. Mrs. Gerstacker served as president of both foundations until her death in 1975. The foundation is administered by a twelve-member board of trustees, including Esther S. and Lisa J. Gerstacker.

Purpose and Activities

Giving to assist community projects, with emphasis on the aged and the youth; grants also for higher education, health care, medical research, and hospitals.
