Incorporated in 1954 in Washington, DC - Allie S. Freed developed Buckingham Communities the first low cost housing development in the country during the depression. Buckingham was sold and the proceeds were donated to the Freed Foundation

Purpose and Activities

The foundation's goals for 2016 will be to decrease human and animal suffering and to enhance the lives of the grant recipients be it people, animals or the earth. In addition, the foundation tries to make the world they influence a kinder gentler place for its inhabitants. Grants will be given to organizations that try to protect all living beings from cruelty, harm and abuse.
