Established in 2005 in MI; funded in 2006 - Founded by Braylon Edwards, a wide receiver who last played for the New York Jets in the National Football League. During his career, Edwards has also played for the Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks. In 2007, Edwards was a Pro Bowl selection. He is currently a free agent.

Purpose and Activities

The foundation is dedicated to addressing and meeting the needs of under-served youth in the concentrated area of education. Its goal is to emphasize the importance of education by providing scholarships and incentives to youth who demonstrate strong commitment and effort to excel in academics, conduct and community volunteerism. BEF will partner with schools, corporate and non profit entities in an effort to collectively affect change in the lives of individuals in which they serve.
