The Prize in Medicine is awarded annually to an American biomedical researcher who has made significant progressive contributions to medicine. The Prize in Science is awarded each year by Carnegie Mellon University.

The Dickson Prize in Medicine

The Dickson Prize in Medicine is the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine's highest honor and is awarded annually to an individual whose career has been building, who is at an especially productive point currently, and whose research is or will be so influential that it deserves major recognition now. The winners of the prize will receive a medal, a $50,000 honorarium, and travel expenses to Pittsburgh to accept the award and present the keynote lecture during the University's annual campus-wide showcase of scientific research. The recipient must be a U.S. citizen.
