Purpose and Activities

The mission of the foundation is to seek preservation of the scenic, historic, cultural, and environmental heritage of northwestern Loudoun County, VA, by: 1) researching and educating the public about land use policies that have been successfully used in other areas in furtherance of smart growth and heritage preservation objectives; 2) monitoring compliance with and aiding in the enforcement of environmental, health, legal, and traffic safety requirements applicable to local land development; 3) encouraging the donation or acquisition of scenic easements and their use in connection with land preservation and land development conducted in harmony with heritage preservation goals; 4) seeking to preserve local sites of scenic, historic, cultural, and environmental interest and their surroundings; and 5) supporting community activities that increase public awareness of the local heritage. .
