George E. Sims, Jr. Nursing Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded each year to nursing students based on the applicant's scholastic record, character, leadership qualities, participation in students and community activities, and personal interviews. The scholarships include all costs associated with fulfilling the requirements of a nursing degree. Recipients must work at West Georgia Health for one or two years after graduation, depending upon the duration of the scholarship.

Grants to Individuals Program

Undergraduate scholarships to individuals who have been residents of Troup County or La Grange, GA, for at least two years. Graduate scholarships to children of former employees of Callaway Mills Company, and to applicants who are residents of LaGrange, GA, who were educated in the LaGrange public schools. Nursing scholarships are available each year to nursing students.

Hatton Lovejoy Graduate Studies Fund

This scholarship program is to encourage and assist worthy young men and women to advance themselves through postgraduate education to assume roles in community leadership and service. The scholarship grants are open to any person enrolled or accepted in any accredited postgraduate program of study. First preference is given to children of former employees of Callaway Mills Company and second preference is given to those who are residents and graduates of Troup County, GA. Award amounts vary depending on specific circumstances.

Hatton Lovejoy Scholarship Plan

Scholarships to individuals who have been residents of Troup County, GA, for at least two years at the time of applying. Additionally, applicants must be graduates of, or within six months of graduation from, an accredited high school with a scholastic standing in the upper 25 percent of their class. While in college, recipients must maintain a cumulative scholastic standing in the upper one-half of their college class. The maximum amount of a scholarship award is $1,200 per quarter or $1,800 per semester of college attendance for 12 quarters or 8 semesters, for a total maximum scholarship of $14,400.
