Background
Established in 1997 in TX - Founded in the name of Nancy Goodman Brinker, by her husband, the late Norman E. Brinker. Ms. Brinker is the founder and C.E.O. of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, an organization supporting breast cancer research which Ms. Brinker named for her sister Susan. Her government service has included United States Ambassador to Hungary (2001-2003) and Chief of Protocol of the United States (2007-2009); she also serves as the World Health Organization's Goodwill Ambassador for Cancer Control. Ms. Brinker was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor on August 12, 2009. Norman E. Brinker was a known restaurateur who was responsible for such innovative ideas in the restaurant business, like the salad bar. Mr. Brinker was also the owner of Brinker International, Inc., a company which he purchased from Chili's Bar and Grill in 1983, which now operates more than 1,500 restaurants worldwide, including Maggiano's Little Italy
