Established in 1963 in TX - Founded by members of the famed Texas oil Bass family: Edward P. Bass, Lee M. Bass and the late Perry R. Bass. Edward P. Bass is a businessman, financier, philanthropist, and environmentalist who financed the Biosphere 2 project, an artificially closed ecological system designed to mimic the earth so as to live on Mars. He is also the Chairman of the investment and venture-capital management firm Fine Line. Lee M. Bass is president of Lee M. Bass Inc., an energy and natural resource business. Perry R. Bass was a Texas oil magnate and founder of Bass Brothers Enterprises.
