The fund seeks to advance systematic change to benefit communities around the world by investing in, connecting and celebrating social entrepreneurs.


Established in 1999 in CA; supporting organization of the Silicon Valley Community Foundation - Founded by Jeff Skoll, who was the first employee and first president of the online auction website, eBay. Skoll also founded Participant Media, an independent film production company with credits including the Oscar-nominated "Syriana," "Good Night, and Good Luck," "North Country," and "The Help." Jeff Skoll has committed to The Giving Pledge, and has pledged to give away at least half of his wealth to philanthropy
