About

Established in 2005 in NY - Founded by Alex Katz, an American figural artist associated with the pop art movement. Mr. Katz is famous for his paintings, sculptures, and prints. His work has been exhibited at many major art museums including one of his most famous, "Alex Katz: Selections from the Whitney Museum," a major solo show held at the New York State Museum in 2007, and most recent, "Alex Katz: Fifteen Minutes," a solo-exhibition of landscape paintings of sunsets and twilights at PaceWildenstein, New York, in 2009. He has close ties with Colby College, Maine, where he received an honorary doctorate in 1984 and where its art museum opened a wing in 1996 dedicated to Katz, showcasing more than 400 of his oil paintings, collages, and prints donated by the artist
