Purpose and Activities

The foundation will continue its funding efforts on programs for seniors, particularly programs that are existing and enable seniors to remain in their own homes. Additional priority will be given to programs that address some of the following: 1) access to services for immigrant and ethnically and racially diverse seniors; 2) the frail elderly; 3) programs that provide core community-based resources and services, including in-home social support and wellness visits, chore services, housing modifications, transportation, and food delivery; 4) programs that match the resources of vital elders with the needs of frail elders; 5) programs that address isolation of seniors and foster greater social connectedness; 6) programs that support the needs of caregivers; 7) programs that include volunteerism or augment volunteer coordination systems; and 8) programs that address early stage memory loss among seniors in the community .
