About

Purpose and Activities

The foundation sponsors a scholarship program to motivate and change behavior of high potential students to strive towards a goal of graduating from college, recognizing that even high potential students are vulnerable to outside influences during high school and college years. Schuler Scholars are Illinois students selected at the end of the freshman year in high school. They are offered a 4 year college scholarship provided they maintain the requirements of the Scholar program for their remaining 3 years of high school and 4 years of college. Each student will have a team of advisors, including her/his parents to help him or her navigate through high school and college. At Highland Park and Maine East high schools, applications will be accepted from 8th grade students only; at Waukegan High School, applications will be accepted from Freshman only; at Round Lake and Warren Township high schools, applications will be accepted from both 8th grade and Freshman students.
