Sassoon sold his name to Procter & Gamble and to manufacturers of haircare products. He has written numerous books, including "A Year of Beauty and Health." In 1982, Sassoon established the Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of AntiSemitism, or SICSA, a center focused on gathering information about anti-Semitism with the goal of understanding it. In 2009, Sassoon was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire, an order of chivalry established in 1917 by George V of the United Kingdom. "Vidal Sassoon: The Movie", a documentary about his life, was released in 2010.
