Purpose and Activities

Support for programs that strive to improve the lives of families afflicted by depression, with a focus on those that address child and adolescent depression and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The foundation operates three funding programs. Two are post-doctoral fellowship programs to fund clinical or basic research. One of these programs supports researchers investigating childhood and adolescent depression. The other supports researchers investigating ADHD in children. Investigators must hold a Ph.D. and/or an M.D. degree, and have completed all research training, including post-doctoral training. The foundation's third funding program supports medical student training programs at a number of institutions. These programs increase students' exposure to the field of child psychiatry. The foundation no longer funds outside the three fellowship programs.
