Purpose and Activities

The foundation seeks to contribute to a dynamic and evolving culture by supporting the creation, development, and production of new works by emerging artists. The Foundation makes grants to not-for-profit arts organizations and artists in Minnesota and New York City.

Incorporated in 1964 in MN - Founded by the late Jerome Hill, who was a filmmaker and artist. Among his films are "Open the Door and See All the People," "Death in the Forenoon," and "The Sand Castle." His film "Film Portrait" was selected as an outstanding Film of the Year for presentation at the 1972 London Film Festival and won the Gold Dukat Prize at the 21st Annual Film Festival in Mannheim, Germany. His film, "Albert Schweitzer," done with Erika Anderson, won the 1957 Academy Award for Best Documentary. In line with the founder's interests, the directors have limited the foundation's giving program to the arts.
