Giving primarily for higher education, and to a festival for young playwrights.


Established in 2002 in CA - Founded by Carol Burnett, an award-winning actress, comedienne, singer, dancer and writer. She starred in "The Carol Burnett Show," which won twenty-three Emmy Awards. In addition to appearing in such films as "The Four Seasons," "Annie" and "Noises Off," she also appeared on Broadway in "Fade Out - Fade In," "Moon Over Buffalo," and "Once Upon a Mattress," for which she received her first Tony Award nomination. In 1985, Burnett was inducted into the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She was a recipient of the 2003 Kennedy Center Honors and in 2005 she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by former president George W. Bush.
