Established in 1994 in NY - Founded in the name of the late Dorothy and Lillian Gish. Lillian Gish was a stage and television actress, as well as prominent film star of the 1910s and 1920s. Among her numerous screen roles, Ms. Gish was particularly associated with the films of director D.W. Griffith, including her leading role in his film "Birth of a Nation." She also appeared in "Night of the Hunter" and "A Wedding." Dorothy Gish was the younger sister of Lillian Gish and an actress who starred in over 100 short films and features, many of them with Lillian. Among the films she appeared in are "Our Hearts Were Young and Gay" and "Centennial Summer."
