Purpose and Activities

Giving to improve the quality of life in Arizona to benefit future generations, by improving the competitiveness of Arizona's biomedical/research enterprise; by strengthening universities through an undergraduate scholarship program for outstanding high school students; and by furthering the artistic mission and strengthening the institutional capacity of principal visual and performing arts organizations.


Established in 1965 in AZ - Dr. Flinn served as chairman of the board of the foundation until his death in July, 1984. In 1982, the foundation received a bequest of nearly $25 million from Mrs. Flinn's estate and, in 1984, contributions from the Robert S. Flinn Unitrust totaled $33.3 million.
