Established in 2006 in CA and DE as successor foundation to the J.W.C. Foundation, established in 1981 as the John W. Carson Foundation - Founded by the late John W. "Johnny" Carson, who was a television host and comedian. He is best known as the host of "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" from 1962–1992. Carson won six Emmy Awards, was a recipient of Kennedy Center Honors, and, in 1987, was inducted into the Television Academy Hall of Fame.
