Mr. Woodruff, who was the co-anchor of "ABC World News Tonight", has covered such events as the war in Iraq and the death of Pope John Paul II for ABC News; in 2006, he was severely injured by a roadside bomb while reporting in Baghdad, Iraq. He is also the co-author of the book "In an Instant: A Family's Journey of Love and Healing." In 2013, he was awarded the American Legion National Commander Public Relations Award.
