The council sponsors humanities programs designed to enrich public discussion and encourage citizen involvement; provides grants and technical support to nonprofit organizations and a limited number of individual grants to teachers and scholars for humanities-based projects; offers a speakers bureau as a service to nonprofit organizations; and collaborates on projects and services with other cultural and educational leaders in Utah. Grants are only awarded for Public Humanities Programs such as lectures, conferences, panels, media productions, and exhibits for adult out-of-school audiences.
