Purpose and Activities

The foundation seeks to raise public awareness about children awaiting adoption in the U.S., to educate prospective parents about the adoption process, and to form public and private partnerships to make the process easier and more affordable.


Established in 1992 in OH - Founded by the late Dave Thomas, who is widely considered to be a pioneer in the fast-food industry. In 1969, he founded the fast-food chain Wendy's, and served as its president and chief executive office; from 1989 to 2002, he appeared in commercials for the chain. In 2003, he was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom
