Established in 1985 in CA - Founded in the name of the late John Wayne, an actor whose films include "The Bullfighter and the Lady" (1951), "Hondo" (1953), and "The Alamo" (1960). He won an Academy Award for Best Actor in 1969 for his role in the film "True Grit." In 1979, he was awarded a Congressional Gold Medal; in 1980, he was posthumously awarded a Presidential Medal of Freedom
