Giving to promote public awareness, research, and preservation of the history of jazz; giving also to support students of music.


Established in NY - Founded by the late Dr. William E. "Billy" Taylor, who was a jazz pianist and composer, as well as the Artistic Director for jazz at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC. Mr. Taylor was the winner of two Peabody Awards, an Emmy Award, a Grammy Award, and the Lifetime Achievement Award from DownBeat Magazine. He is best known for the song "I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel to Be Free."
