Purpose and Activities

The mission of the foundation is to distribute funds for charitable purposes in the areas of civic, cultural, health, education, and social services.


Established in 1995 in NE; supporting organization of the Omaha Community Foundation - Founded by Walter Scott, Jr. and his wife, Suzanne. Walter Scott, Jr. is the former C.E.O. of Peter Kiewit Sons' Incorporated, one of the largest contractors in the world. In 1997, he was honored with the Horatio Alger Award. Walter Scott, Jr. has committed to The Giving Pledge, and has pledged to give away at least half of his wealth to philanthropy.
