Purpose and Activities

Giving primarily to organizations that focus on encouraging social change by increasing social and economic justice in Israel and the Netherlands (The Hague). In addition, the foundation supports the Jewish community in the Netherlands. The foundation focuses on non-profit organizations working on social cohesion and solidarity in the city, creating opportunities for people at the bottom of society and support them to develop further towards (economic) independence. There is also a special focus on youth; funding for common projects in arts and culture are considered when extra attention is given to involve specific target groups. .

Established in 1957 in the Netherlands by Jacques Levi Lassen, a Dutch businessman, who remained the foundation’s sole director-administrator until his death in 1962 and to which he bequeathed his full inheritance, including all shares in his company. Since then, the foundation has been operated by a three-member Board of Trustees.
