Purpose and Activities

The foundation works to provide funds to support kidney disease research and treatment for those individuals suffering with kidney disease.


Established in 2004 in NC - Founded in the name of the late Wilver "Willie" Dornel Stargell, also known as "Pops," who was a Major League Baseball player. He played left field and first base for his 21-year career with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Stargell hit 475 homeruns, was a seven-time All-Star player, won two World Series titles, and was World Series MVP in 1979. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1988.
