Purpose and Activities

The council is devoted to the advancement of interdisciplinary research in the social sciences by means of a wide variety of interdisciplinary workshops and conferences, fellowships and grants, summer training institutes, scholarly exchanges, and publications; the council also offers support for dissertation fellowships, grants for advanced research, and grants to institutions.
