Purpose and Activities

The Trust’s grantmaking supports education and research in the art and science of ornamental horticulture, to foster human interest in shaping, nurturing, and appreciating nature's beauty. Funding is provided for projects in North America, South America, Central America, the Caribbean, Australia, and New Zealand. Each year, the Trust awards approximately 50 grants, ranging from a few thousand dollars up to $25,000, to botanical gardens, arboreta, universities, and other charitable organizations strongly-aligned with its funding interests. Letters of Inquiry from organizations that match the Trust’s funding interests and eligibility requirements are welcome.
