Purpose and Activities

The foundation is an extension of the mission and ministry of the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine and is committed to addressing the needs of the poor and underserved by understanding the root causes of poverty, nurturing the growth of healthy communities, emphasizing youth and family, and measuring the outcomes of these efforts. The foundation provides support to improve access to healthcare, affordable housing, basic job skills training for adults, career advancement for low income/low skill workers, and kindergarten readiness programs for schools of the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland.


Established in 1995 in OH; converted from funds made available from the purchase of a 50 percent interest in St. Vincent Charity Hospital and St. John West Shore Hospital. Supporting organization of the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine.
