Established in 1952 in NY - Founded by the late Richard Rodgers, who was a composer of music for stage and screen, and is best known for this partnerships with the lyricists Oscar Hammerstein II and Lorenz Hart. He is one of only two persons to have won an Oscar, a Grammy, an Emmy, a Tony Award, and a Pulitzer Prize. Among his numerous shows as a lyricist are "Oklahoma," "South Pacific" and "The Sound of Music." Rodgers, along with Hart, wrote several hit shows, including "Dearest Enemy," "The Girl Friend" and "A Connecticut Yankee." Along with Hammerstein, he produced many songs, such as "Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin'," "Some Enchanted Evening" and "Getting to Know You."
