Purpose and Activities

The primary focus of the foundation is to support literacy. Additional areas of focus are: children's programs, arts organizations, and humanitarian efforts.


Established in 1999 in MD - Founded by Nora Roberts, a bestselling romance novelist and the first author to be inducted into the Romance Writers of America Hall of Fame. She is the recipient of numerous Golden Medallion awards, RITA Awards and Quill awards. Among her novels are "Chasing Fire," Treachery of Death," "The Heart's Victory," "Night Shift," "Angels Fall," and "The Last Boyfriend." Ms. Roberts also writes under the name of J.D. Robb for the "In Death" series.
