Purpose and Activities

The foundation recognizes, encourages, and supports talented individuals who want to pursue an education and a career in the performing arts; the foundation also sponsors a major performing arts scholarship program, promotes an annual performing arts festival, and promotes concerts, stage plays, and cultural performances throughout the year.


Established in 1987 in IA - Founded in the name of the late Donna Reed by members of her hometown community. Reed won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film "From Here to Eternity" (1953); she also co-starred in the films "The Picture of Dorian Grey" (1945) and "It's a Wonderful Life" (1946). From 1958 to 1966, she starred in the television sitcom "The Donna Reed Show."
